Japan High Schools Tour

Plymouth Albion’s Brickfields Stadium has been chosen to stage two matches on Japan High Schools’ tour of England next March.

First up for Japan High Schools’ will be the England Under-18 AER ( Association Europeenne de Rugby) squad who will play at the Brickfields on Sunday March 22, kick off at 2.30pm to prepare for this season’s tournament which will be played in France in early April.

The tourists will use the impressively-developed Brickfields Stadium as a training base and will then play an England Academies XV under floodlights at the ground on Wednesday March 25. Kick off 7pm.

Both matches will showcase some of England’s emerging rugby talent and will be the first time that International Rugby has been staged at the Brickfields Stadium, home of Plymouth Albion.

Former England Under-18 AER players who are now playing in the Guinness Premiership include centre Luke Eves (Bristol), fly-half Robert Miller and full-back Alex Tait ( Newcastle Falcons), prop Alex Corbisiero (London Irish)and wing Miles Benjamin and flanker Matt Cox (Worcester Warriors).

Graham Dawe ( Chairman of Rugby) said that Plymouth Albion were delighted to be hosting both these games. Japan will have a massive involvement on the game worldwide in the future, and both the players and supporters are very enthusiastic about the game.

Hopefully, we will see the emergence of some World Class talent in the future, alongside some very talented young players from England Under 18 AER and England Academies.

Ticket prices for the England Under- 18 V Japan High Schools match on March 22 are only £5 for Adults and £1 for children under 16.
